Bob recently contacted us with a link to a thread on the Sweptline.org forums in which member tinbasher is trying to figure out what kind of engine he has anchoring down a couple of trees. He said the only casting marks on it are
‘B2S’ cast into passenger side of block near the front.
‘F’ cast into the block passenger side rear, and ‘P’ cast into block drivers side rear.
still some dark green paint remaining in places.
My guess is that it’s a proprietary engine, not one bought from an engine supplier; it would stand to reason that an engine supplier would have made sure to cast its name into the engine so everybody knew where the engine came from.
So is it a Willys/Whippet engine? Star, maybe?
